This is a picture of what one person thinks an angel might look like. It could even be a likeness of Lucifer. Maybe this is what Satan really looks like only God knows.

| Have you ever noticed these web sites that seem to worship Angels? Have you ever taken a look at what these folks think angels are like. It tells me that they have not read the Bible. No where in the Bible will you read of a blonde blue eyed female angel in a low cut dress with a high hem line and transparent wings. Don't get me wrong, I think the angels on these sites are cute, but not very realistic. When Angels do take on human form, they are always male and they have a task to perform for God. They are usually either delivering a message from God or carrying out his judgment or maybe protecting us. The Angels are not little chubby children. When we die we do not become angels. Angels are created beings without souls. In the bible it says that in the future, we will judge angels. They are not worthy of worship. Only God is worthy of worship. We should be concerned for the people who put so much store in angels. In the long run, when it is all done and over with, they will find out that the angels can do nothing for them. If anything, it could be the angels that will herd them into hell on the day they are judged. So when you go to one of these sites, you should just take them for what they are. They are just a fantasy in someone's mind and have no basis in Biblical fact. I have seen Christians sign their guest books and try to condemn them for their views. I think this is not very helpful. God will change their hearts in His own good time. |

Angels Carry out God's commands

I think this will demonstrate better than I can the danger of this type of angel worship:

Here's another interesting comment to my guest book about Angels. It was left by a gracious man who commented in a very kind and thoughtful way: |

Reading your page on Angels: I agree that Angel worship is not of God at all and should not be treated as acceptable; however, to say they are all male makes me wonder. If you look at Luke 1:38 it says that Mary said "Behold the handmaid of the Lord" I don't think at that moment she was anything but humble, I don't believe she was speaking to the Angel that the Angel might 'behold her' but rather that she herself was 'beholding the handmaid of the Lord' .. It seems to me there she is acknowledging the Angel as feminine, as only handmaids can be feminine. If you study the verses using a concordance, you will see that oftentimes 'he' or 'his' or 'him' is inserted in the text to give an assumed gender. But, in the Greek and Hebrew the assumed gender is not specifically male. I don't often use the Greek and Hebrew to back up my beliefs, usually, I like many unsuspecting readers take the KJV for face value, but there is a time when you do need to consider when making such statements like all Angels in the Bible are of male gender.

My comment to the above is that I believe in the Bible, all manifestations
of angels take on the appearance of a male. I think that in the case of
Mary she was saying exactly what the bible says. I think she is calling
herself the handmaid of the Lord. Most bible scholars agree that the angel
that appeared to Zechariah to announce John's birth also appeared to Mary
to Announce the Lord's birth. That Angel was Gabriel.
See "The Bible Knowledge Commentary": "Gabriel’s admonition (Luke 1:30-31) was the same as to Zechariah: Do not be afraid, for you will have a Son (cf. v. 13). As with John (v. 13b), the naming was by the angel (v. 31)." See "Matthew Henery's Commentary: "We have here notice given us of all that it was fit we should know concerning the incarnation and conception of our blessed Saviour, six months after the conception of John. The same angel, Gabriel, that was employed in making known to Zacharias God’s purpose concerning his son, is employed in this also; for in this, the same glorious work of redemption, which was begun in that, is carried on." I don't believe that in their natural form angels are either male or female. I think the Bible is clear there. But when they are sent on a mission by God as written in the Bible, all such manifestations are in the form of a male. This is not to say that God does not now send them in the form of a female, but I don't see any evidence of that in the Bible. |
